Smart home safety Q&A
Does smart-home safety require Wi-Fi?
Most modern systems use Wi-Fi or a dedicated hub. We confirm the home’s Wi-Fi coverage during the assessment and recommend hardware accordingly. For homes without reliable Wi-Fi, cellular-based medical alert systems are an alternative we install.
What is the difference between motion-sensor lights and smart bulbs?
Motion sensors switch existing lights on when someone walks into the room, even at night. Smart bulbs are scheduled or voice-controlled. For fall prevention, motion sensors in hallways, bathrooms, and stairwells are usually the higher-value upgrade.
Are medical alert systems still worth it?
For seniors who live alone or have a history of falls, yes. Modern medical alert systems include automatic fall detection and two-way voice. We install wearable and in-home units with monthly monitoring options.
